The hotel was the Hampton Inn-Convention Center which is located near the bank of the very full Mississippi River. All attendees made use of the hospitality suite where shipmates, families, and friends gathered to share memories, stories, and more than a few laughs.

Wednesdays activities started with a guided City Bus Tour of many famous New Orleans locations including the French Quarter, riverfront, and the 9th Ward where we all were amazed at the still evident damage from Hurricane Katrina. After the tour we visited the World War II Museum that now covers multiple city block sand is still expanding.

On Thursday we returned to the WWII Museum to watch a very special multi media experience entitled “Beyond All Boundaries”. That was followed by lunch and a special 1940’s Canteen show which was enjoyed by all. Attendees then continued to explore the many exhibits of the museum.

On Friday we boarded the Steamboat Natchez for a cruise down the Mississippi and an onboard luncheon of Louisiana catfish. Later that afternoon upon our return many people walked through downtown to capture the sights, sounds, and aromas of New Orleans.

Reunion activities came to a close on Saturday as the general meeting and memorial service was followed that evening with the annual banquet.
